Herbarium

Hand-painted decoupage wallpaper, inspired by the bedroom of 18th century Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus. Linnaeus papered his walls with prints of botanical studies by Charles Plumier (1646-1704) and Georg Ehret (1707-1770).

Tess hand-painted botanical studies onto individual sheets of parchment paper and pasted them in an overlapping decoupage style. This project lead to Tess’ first wallpaper design, Herbarium Wildflower.
