Estelle Manor

Decoration of the Brasserie and Orangery of Estelle Manor, a hotel and private members’ club set in a Grade-II listed landmark house on an Oxfordshire estate.

Our brief was to create what might have already been - for any decoration to feel "found", as though part of the historic fabric of the building. Layers of distressed plaster sit under panels created through shaded lines, working with and echoing the original architecture of the room. Faded foliage spreads across each panel, lost in parts. The world is not too delicate or pretty; brambles and deadly nightshade weave through sprawling ground ivy. The atmosphere of the adjoining rooms feels fresh and inviting in the morning, yet romantic and atmospheric in the evening.
